Benefits of Toddlers' Group Singing Lessons
There is a myriad of benefits for toddlers to participate in singing lessons.
Group singing lessons for toddlers are a cost-effective way to introduce music to your child. It’s also a great starting point for children that love to sing but are apprehensive about participating in lessons by themselves, preferring the additional moral support of singing in a group context. Students always have the option of moving to an individual lesson at a later stage if they wish.
Singing has a wonderfully calming effect on toddlers. When we sing, we are exhaling breath from our lungs through the vocal folds, which in many instances elongates the out breath as we sing extended phrases or long-held notes. This slowing down of the out breath through phonation (singing), assists in stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which serves to calm the sympathetic nervous system and help relax children. They will simultaneously benefit from the release of endorphins in the body (the feel-good chemicals).
Singing plays a significant role in toddlers phonological development, communication, and social skills. It helps children develop important linguistic and aural skills, and fast-track the development of their diction, articulation, and ability to express themselves effectively. Studies have revealed that singing increases activity in and development of the right-left brain activity, boosting their ability to multi-task, build spatial cognition and fine motor skills. Many of the world's most brilliant minds where honed by their music playing and education!
One of the key benefits of toddlers group singing lessons is that they gain valuable weekly opportunity to sing in front of other children. This helps build a toddlers' self-confidence, a key ingredient in helping young children thrive and in the bigger picture, lead a happy and fulfilling life.

All key principles covered in individual classes will also be covered in group classes. This will include, warm-ups, scales, vocal technique, musicality (refinement of pitch & rhythm - the pillars of a good vocalist) and more.
The repertoire of songs covered will be chosen based on catering to the musical interests of the group and that appropriate to the overall level of the group.

Students are grouped together with those of a similar age and level of experience. Students are not required to have prior music experience as lessons cater for all levels and students will be guided appropriately for whatever level they are at. Group classes can run for a minimum of two people and a maximum of 4.
